Adalberto Jordan
Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals
An 89-5 Senate cloture vote on February 13, 2012 ended a bizarre silent filibuster (no senator said anything for the filibuster or against the nominee) and forced a Floor vote. After an inexcusable and unexplained delay of over four months, the Senate finally confirmed Judge Jordan on a 94-5 vote on February 15, 2012. President Obama nominated Southern District of Florida U.S. District Judge Adalberto Jordan on Aug. 2, 2011 to fill a federal courts declared emergency vacancy on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Jordan has the strong bipartisan home-state support of both Sens. Rubio and Bill Nelson and was approved on October 13, 2011 by the Senate Judiciary Committee (one of 15 pending (as of Feb. 13, 2012) judicial nominees whom the Committee approved unanimously).
