David J. Barron
First Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals
On September 24, 2013, President Obama nominated David J. Barron to fill a vacancy on the six-seat U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Barron’s nomination is supported by a wide range of prominent bipartisan letters to the Senate. On January 16, 2014, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved his nomination on a 10-8 party-line vote. He was confirmed 53-45 on May 22, 2014.
