After a cloture petition was filed to end debate, the Senate finally agreed unanimously to vote on the merits on Feb. 17, 2012 on the district court nomination of Jesse M. Furman (Southern District of N.Y.), who was approved by the Judiciary Committee on an unopposed voice vote on Sept. 15, 2011.  The confirmation Vote was 62-34.


During the agreed upon two, minutes of debate, Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Pat Leahy (D-VT) spoke on the Floor in favor of confirmation and the one minute of Republican time was yielded back (i.e., No Senator spoke against confirmation).
